Welcome to A Place for Everything Cleaning Services – A family-run business proudly owned and operated by husband and wife team Emma and Jim in Barnstaple, North Devon.
We started this business with a simple idea: a clean, well-cared-for space makes life feel calmer, easier and more enjoyable. Working side by side, we bring a personal, hands-on approach to every home and business we visit. When you book with us, you’re getting people who genuinely care about doing the job right.
We’re known for our attention to detail, reliability, and warm, friendly service. Whether it’s regular cleaning, a deep refresh, or helping restore order to a busy home, we treat every space with the same care and respect as if it were our own.

Get to know Emma
So let me tell you about myself, I am finally on the right path in my life, I have 2 amazing boys who are 9 and 16, they mean the world to me, my husband Jim who I met back in February 2019, came into our lives at a time where I was losing all hope. He made me sit up and realise I am capable of anything especially following my dream and has been my rock throughout the journey of “A Place for Everything Cleaning Services”! ……. Life takes you on a journey and I truly believe that the paths you take, whether it’s the good or the bad ones, are what make you who you are and the lessons in my life have led me to where I am today!
My experience in mainly customer faced positions has led me to have the compassion / empathy and patience to help people and listen to their needs, I have worked may years in hospitality where you were expected to give the highest standard of service with efficiency, to also listen and attend to the needs of the customer, making their experience the best so they keep coming back!
So one day I sat up and realised I can do this! I held my breath and said finally out loud to everyone here that I am starting my own cleaning business! I was working at ASDA at the time full time so I went part time to begin with and initially thought I wouldn’t be leaving permanently for around 6 months but the clients started coming in fast for adverts and a lot of word of mouth, and by the end of April I was finished at ASDA and full time cleaning, Crazy!
My passion for high standards, reliability, consistency and a personable approach has shone through making my dream a reality!
The business needed a new direction as I had so many enquiries and I hated saying no! So a lot sooner than planned. My husband Jim decided to take the plunge with me! He has previous cleaning experience and amazing with accounts. With him coming on board we manager to almost double our client base, 5 months later and we are planning for phase 2!
Jim, I want to thank you for believing in me and coming on this journey and new chapter of our life! Now the only way is up! We can’t wait to see where this goes and we thank all our clients old and new for choosing us!
Get to know Jim
Let me introduce myself, I’m Jim. Emma’s husband, and now business partner. Some people think I’m crazy for wanting to work with my wife but genuinely, this is our dream!
When Emma sat me down one evening and shared this bonkers idea of leaving her secure job and starting her own cleaning business, I knew she would do it and I knew she would succeed. With my history in finance I started as ‘Just the numbers Guy’, then I joined Emma on a few big cleans,,, and we realised this was the way forward.
My previous cleaning experience in a pharmaceutical factory where part of my job was to carry out clean downs of the manufacturing rooms is where I developed an obsessive attention to detail.
With Emma’s diary bursting at the seams come August 2025 I took the leap. I handed in my notice and became an official partner on 15th September and never looked back.
I love helping people aside from cleaning, you’ll find my changing lightbulbs, hanging pictures, fixing drawers or moving heavy items amongst a host of other things.
I am immensely proud of Emma and in complete awe of bravery in following this dream, and now I am here to follow her all the way!
